Trauma therapy

A trauma is a physical rsp. mental injury which initially could not be (fully) processed by the organism. A trauma may e.g. occur through a natural disaster, an accident, (sexual) violence or emotional abuse.

In a trauma therapy, we will first stabilize rsp. restore a sense of security, control, and self-effectiveness. From the very beginning, therapeutic attention will be directed at re(activating) the client's inner resources and resilience.

During the phase of trauma relief rsp. trauma integration I apply the traumatherapeutic procedure TRIMB® (Trauma Recapitulation with Imagination, Motion and Breath). In this therapeutic approach, imagination, breath, and a lateral movement of the head are used in order to process and alleviate triggers and trauma material in a gentle way.

I will explain the phases of a trauma therapy including the TRIMB® method both in advance of and during the therapeutic process. Further questions will also be answered by phone or during an initial, non-committal meeting.
